The master developer of Dubai, Nakheel, is currently working on the final details of a mega mall project on Deira Islands, and it is going to be put out to tender soon. This Dh4b ($1.1 billion) mega project is a part of the reshaping of the retail sector in Deira. The Deira Islands Mega Mall project is considered to be one of the most desired projects of the construction industry in Dubai along with the ‘The Tower’ (EMAAR’s world’s tallest structure located at Dubai Creek Harbour) and ‘The Pavilion’ which hosts the Expo 2020.
The chairman of Nakheel, Ali Rashid Lootah, reveals that the mall spreads over 600,000 square metres and will become the centre-point of the finest tourist destination and tourist hub Deira Islands aspires to become. The mall is the only solution for the absence of new retail space in the city and is not targeting high-end retail, says Ali Rashid Lootah.
Deira Island is a group of artificial islands in Dubai, UAE. The project comprises over 1,400 retail units, a hotel, and an amphitheatre.
