Dubai and Spain join hands for new collaborations in business

Dubai Wholesale City and Spanish embassy in the UAE discussed new opportunities and challenges in business.

Dubai Wholesale City (DWSC) and a visiting delegation from the Spanish embassy in the UAE had discussed new opportunities and challenges in building cooperation. Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of DWSC, along with other senior officials welcomed the Commercial Attaché at the Spanish embassy in the UAE and the international trade and investment advisor at the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Dubai. Spain being an important trading partner for the country with bilateral trade volumes of approximately € 2 billion per annum, Belhoul urged the Spanish delegates to take advantage of DWSC’s world-class services and facilities to achieve growth locally, regionally and globally.

The Spanish economy ranked 14th globally regarding GDP and considered to be the fourth-largest economy in the Euro Zone. According to the Ministry of Economy in the UAE, the UAE has 40 Spanish companies, 73 Spanish commercial agencies, and 1,456 Spanish brands.

Once completed, DWSC will span over 550 million square feet with an approximate development cost of Dh30 billion ($8.1 billion) over ten years, aiming to increase UAE’s share in the global wholesale business sector.
