The second Dubai Health Regulation and Medical Tourism conference, hosted by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), opened on Wednesday, October 05, at the InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.
The two-day conference has discussed the advances in health regulation and ways to strengthen regulatory mechanisms to ensure high-quality healthcare and patient safety. It also discussed regulations for medical tourism. The World Health Tourism Conference has facilitated a networking session during the event.
More than 500 participants and officials, including the president of the International Organization of Medical Tourism, president of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA), and delegates from Ministry of Health, Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD), and Emirates Medical Association, have attended the conference.
The conference ensured the continued growth of Dubai Health Experience (DXH), a brand conceived by the Dubai Health Authority to strengthen the position of Dubai on the world map of medical tourism. It is part of Dubai Health Strategy 2021 that aims to create an effective ecological system for the healthcare sector in Dubai in collaboration with the private and public sectors, in addition to restructuring DHA’s administration.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), established in 2007, is a government entity that oversees Dubai’s health sector. It is responsible for all DHA healthcare facilities, including hospitals, speciality centres, and DHA primary health centres.
