Dubai Tram to connect Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah and Mall of the Emirates

Dubai Tram currently connects 11 stations over nearly 11 kilometres with 11 trams. It will extend the current line by up to 5 kilometers covering more iconic destinations,” Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes, CEO of Road and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Rail Agency told Emirates 24|7 at the Middle East Rail conference held last month.
The Metro and Tram are both shaping up increasingly into transportation of choice. Nearly 50 million people journeyed aboard the Dubai Metro in the first quarter according to the RTA.
RTA is extending the Red Line to connect Nakheel Harbour and Station on Sheikh Zayed Road with the Expo 2020 venue. RTA had also earlier announced extension of the 18-station Green Line by more than 20 kilometre and 11 stations to connect Ras Al Khor industrial area, International City and Silicon Oasis.
