The French technology pavilion will host 22 French exhibitors as well as startups specialised in digital technology at the upcoming mega event Gitex to be held in Dubai, the UAE. The event takes place from October 16 to October 20, 2016, at the new Zabeel Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The French exhibitors, with the help of Business France, will get the opportunity to meet with 200 investors and venture capitalists in the region, says Business France. Business France also stated that startups would compete to win USD1m at the Gitex Startup Competition. The exhibiting companies operate in a variety of sectors such as M2M and mobile applications, network and software solutions, telecommunications, and IT security, among others. This time, four French startups namely; Famoco, Bell & Wyson, Think & GO NFC, and Oledcomm will present their outstanding inventions, says the company.
The French Tech Pavilion will also host Nexa, Reunion Island’s Regional Investment and Innovation Development Agency, which comes with five companies to the event. The project manager of the French Tech Pavilion for Business France, Fayssal Majid, said that there would be a reception area at each of the two pavilions to guide visitors towards the French exhibitors.
In the year 2015, the revival of the French software and IT services industry continued with a growth rate of 2.2 percent. As per statistics, this increase was boosted by the strength of the mobility, social, Cloud and security (SMACS), analytics projects, which rose by 16.9 percent to €5.6 billion ($6.25 billion).
Visitors interested in meeting the French firms exhibiting at the French Tech Pavilion are advised to go to Hall 4. The start-up zone is expected to be set up at the new Zabeel Hall.
