The leading developer of Dubai, Nakheel, has appointed six local companies for leading the design and construction supervision of its new Jebel Ali project. The AED 7.5 billion project, Jebel Ali Gardens community, comprises 42 high-rises, home to about 40,000 people at its 1,000 apartments. Chairman of Nakheel, Mr. Ali Rashid Lootah, said that these six companies would work as consultants who will work with Nakheel’s in-house design, construction, and engineering departments to deliver one of the biggest, most desirable residential communities in Dubai.

Golden Square Engineering; Middle East Engineering Consultants (Meecon); Adnan Saffarini Office, Design Center Architects & Engineers Consultants; Arif & Bintoak Consulting Architects and Engineers; and Bel-Yoahah Architectural and Engineering Consultants are the six firm appointed by Nakheel. “A construction tender will be liberated in Q1-17 and with expected completion in Q1-20. The 42 buildings varied between 18 to 29 floors and grouped into 12 blocks,” says Nakheel.

Nakheel plans to double the number of existing units for lease to almost 36,000. Jebel Ali Gardens sprawls on a 5.5 million sq ft site, of which about 20 percent will be green space and with a built-up area of 19 million square feet.
