Well-known hotel operator of the world, Rezidor, is all set to explore Dubai’s Business Bay as the Dubai Canal takes shape. The first property, the five-star, 432-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront will be completed by the first quarter of next year and the second project, the five-star, 204-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Canal by the first quarter of 2018. Rezidor opened its first ever hotel property in Business Bay in 2011. Rezidor, a part of the famous Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, also plans to open some five-star properties in other areas of the UAE, including Ras Al Khaimah in the coming years. One of Dubai’s prestigious projects, the Dh703 million, 2.9-kilometre Dubai Water Canal that links Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf, is set to open by the end of this year. Apart from berths for yachts, Dubai Water Canal also features a 5-kilometre boardwalk lined with food and beverage and retail stores.
The Sharjah-based Al Hamad Group of Companies owns the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Waterfront and the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Canal View. Rezidor has a total of 10 properties in the UAE, including its six Dubai properties. It has around 14 properties in the pipeline in the region with six expected to open by the end of next year.
Dubai has received total 7.27 million tourists during the first half of 2016. It was 7.25 million during the same period last year.
