The Outlet Village is officially launched at Jebel Ali, Dubai on Monday, September 05, 2016. It is an exceptional shopping destination that offers established brands at discounted prices in a luxurious manner. Currently, the village comprises around 140,000 square metres, and an additional phase of 300,000 square metres will be added later, developer Meraas says in a statement. It is inspired by the hilltop town of San Gimignano in Italy, a Unesco World Heritage Site. The Outlet Village has three three department stores, dining outlets and various family attractions. The brands present in the village include Dunhill, DKNY, Guiseppe Zanotti, Tommy Hilfiger, Ted Baker, and Diesel, among others. The Village features food outlets such as Operation Falafel, PF Chang’s, Tashas, and Godiva. Some hotels and tourist spots in Dubai offers complimentary coach services to the village. It opens from 10 am to 10 pm (Mondays to Wednesday) and 10 am to midnight (Thursday to Saturday).
The Outlet Village was developed by Meraas, a Dubai-based holding company. Meraas has operations and assets throughout the UAE. It focuses on a variety of sectors, including real estate, tourism, healthcare, hospitality, retail, leisure & entertainment, and technology.
Dubai already has an international reputation for its splashy malls. Dubai Holding, an investment holding company, owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, plans to develop a 745,000 square metre shopping centre with 100 hotels named Mall of the World, on Shaikh Zayed Road.
