Commercial License

A Commercial License allows the import, export, distribution and storage of the items that are specified on the license. This type of license is suitable for three different product lines or ten similar product lines.

General Trading License

A General Trading License allows the licensee to trade in more activities. This type of license enables more flexibility and freedom for the trading of any commodity permitted. 

Industrial License

An Industrial License allows the import of raw materials leading to the manufacturing, processing, assembling, packaging of specific products and the exporting of end products. 

Consultancy License

A Consultancy License is used by companies who provide professional advice. Two similar business activities are permitted with this license. 

Freelance Permit

A Freelance Permit enables a person to conduct business as a freelance professional, using his/her name instead of a company or brand name. This type of permit is ideal for professionals in the fields of media, film, technology and others. 

Service License

The documents required for a branch should be legalized and attested by the UAE Embassy or Consulate where the parent company exists and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE. The company Shareholders need to submit the same documents that are required for the branch (see above). Each legal document needs to be sealed and initialed if it is more than one page. 

Six Steps to Obtaining your License: 

Step 1 – Select the license

Decide which license is the most suitable for the business’ activities. UAQFTZ’s experienced personnel can assist clients with selecting the most suitable license. 

Step 2 – Select the entity

Select one of the three options:

  • A Free Zone Establishment (FZE), ideal for a single shareholder
  • A Free Zone Company (FZC), for two up to 50 shareholders
  • A Branch of an existing company 

Step 3 – Select the facility

Choose your preferred facility from a variety of offices, warehouses, and land available at UAQFTZ. 

Step 4 – Submit the required documents

Submit the required documents for FZE-FZC as well as branches. UAQFTZ’s experienced personnel can assist clients with the submission of documents. 

Step 5 – Make the payment

Payment of UAQFTZ’s invoice is necessary following submission of the documents. 

Step 6 – Get your Trade License and start your business

On payment of the invoice, your company will be licensed by UAQFTZ Authority. UAQFTZ’s experienced personnel can assist clients with queries. You are ready to begin trading in UAQFTZ as soon as the license has been issued.

Now you need to open a bank account and apply for a residence visa.
